Young Persons’ Plan for the Planet (YPPP) Conference

The Young Persons’ Plan for the Planet (YPPP) Conference will be held in Singapore in the first week of December. YPPP together with the Australian High Commission in Singapore are delighted to announce special guest speakers in the conference line up including Professor Graham Durant and Professor David Gibson, UNESCO Chair Higher Learning as well as the schools and students who will also be presenting.

The presentations will cover international leadership, as well as innovations, career discussions and workshops in digital literacy, science and other STEM subjects focused on achieving a sustainable ‘Future Earth’. Stakeholders include Questacon, ANU, Curtin Singapore and the Singapore Science Centre.

The Conference is open to selected senior high school students and teachers from across Australia, India, Singapore and Mauritius – and will cover a broad range of key innovations in science as well as other STEM subjects specifically focused on the Science Exploration theme of achieving a sustainable ‘Future Earth’.

UNSW ASEAN Conference 2019

The inaugural UNSW ASEAN Conference will be a one-day event bringing together students with regional and diplomatic stakeholders to discuss key issues across Southeast Asia. The theme will be ‘Enriching Identity, Unlocking Potential’.

Three core pillars will form the framework of the conference – the Economic Community Pillar, the Socio-Cultural Pillar and the Political Security Pillar; further diversified by tracks on sustainability, equity and equality, future and technology. The Saturday event promises to be rewarding and informative for all attendees.

The conference will also enable greater understanding and initiate awareness among our emerging leaders on aspects of political-security, socio-cultural and economics in the ASEAN region, provide a platform for students across Australia to share their thoughts on ASEAN related issues and discuss how to advocate critical discussions on the partnership of ASEAN-Australia.

This valuable opportunity will introduce students to possibilities available within the region while inspiring future change makers.

ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) 2019

The AFG Venture Group are presenting this year’s ASEAN Australia Education Dialogue (AAED).

AAED 2019 will be held from 18-20 November 2019 in the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Georgetown in Penang, Malaysia. This year’s dialogue theme is ‘Building Quality Assurance and Sustainability in International Education.’

AAED 2019 will provide unique opportunities for thought leaders, Government, business representatives and education providers from ASEAN and Australia, to come together to share their ideas, build connections, and identify new regional opportunities. The Dialogue will strengthen current links between Australia and ASEAN across key education sectors to build a broader ASEAN-Australia regional and global engagement.

This year’s AAED will feature seven workshops with education themes linking Australia and ASEAN. Workshops will feature themes such as ‘Strengthening Alumni Networks and Enhancing Graduate Employability’, and ‘Building Student Mobility Networks between ASEAN and Australia and within ASEAN’.

ASEAN-Australia Emerging Leaders Program – Ho Chi Minh City

The Australia ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program (A2ELP) is a three month leadership program for 15 social entrepreneurs from ASEAN and Australia. The young entrepreneurs – made up of 5 Australias and an entrepreneur from each of the ASEAN countries will together embark on an 8-day intensive program in Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia in August 2019. The program will include workshops, networking events, field visits, cultural activities, and support for implementation.

The 2019 A2ELP has the theme of “Smart Cities”, which will explore important issues including green infrastructure, water governance, renewable energy, innovative technologies and data analytics. For more information about the program, please visit ASEAN-AUSTRALIA Smart Cities Initiative.

The program will kick off on 10-12 August in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; 13-14 August in Singapore; and 15-17 August in Jakarta, Indonesia.

ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum AAYLF

ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership (AASYP) is delighted to present the inaugural ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum (AAYLF).

The ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum will converge in Jakarta, bringing together 41 outstanding young leaders from across the ASEAN-Australia relationship in an exciting forum to engage, connect and collaborate on issues of mutual significance.

The forum will empower young leaders with the background knowledge and people-to-people networks across the ASEAN region to help bring about increased partnership and collaboration in the future. The program will cultivate the next generation of leadership in the ASEAN-Australia relationship for a more peaceful, stable and prosperous neighborhood.

Sharing Australian expertise in physical education and sports development programs with the FFA in Myanmar

The Football Federation of Australia (FFA)’s Boys Youth Development Manager, Kevin Grima, will travel to Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw to meet with the Myanmar Football Federation and speak at an ASEAN conference about the role of physical education and sport in the Australian education curriculum.

Facilitated by the Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sport, the National Physical Education Conference, titled ’Physical Education Today for an Active Tomorrow’, is an excellent platform to share Australian expertise and experience in sports education and development programs. The program is also a great opportunity to strengthen personal and institutional links between the FAA and the Myanmar Women’s Soccer team, Myanmar Football Federation, sport officials and professionals from Myanmar and across ASEAN.

The RISE Corporate Innovation Summit (CIS) 2019 is Asia’s First Experiential Conference, bringing together innovation, corporate and government leaders from across Southeast Asia.
