SpatialCo will be returning to Myanmar for a much anticipated community-based art project called Yangon Alley Garden. This exciting project is supported through the Australia-ASEAN Council of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
SpatialCo and local NGO Doh Eain, will join forces to use the opportunity to engage and contribute to a celebration and reflection upon Doh Eain’s Alley Garden program.
SpatialCo is a creative practice that explores the application of emerging technologies, and is made up of architects, designers, visualisers and technicians. Doh Eain means ‘Our Home’ and is a multi-discipline restoration and place-making social enterprise based in Yangon, Myanmar.
The project will be conducted over two visits to Yangon, starting with ‘Understanding Place: Botanics & the City‘ – November 13 to November 25 2019, followed by a second visit in late January 2020 – ‘Making Place: Art in the Alley‘, which will involve a series of workshops and the installation of community art into a Yangon Alley.
The sessions are free to attend, please RSVP to contact@doheain.com
