ACMI, Bophana and Cambodian Living Arts Partnership – Enhancing skills, cultural exchange and film curation in the region
- Film
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), the Bophana Audiovisual Resource Centre in Phnom Penh and Cambodian Living Arts are banding together to create a long-term institutional partnership promoting the significance of preservation, restoration and presentation of moving image cultural heritage.
The visually stimulating exhibition will sit within ACMI’s new permanent exhibition about the past, present and future of the moving image, and will contextualise the work of Bophana within the wider story of the history of the moving image.
The skills exchange component of the project will focus on cross-cultural collaboration, policy, planning and skills development for the establishment of a film digitisation laboratory at Bophana (based on the currently operating ACMI model). The partnership will not only enhance skills but will strengthen networks for ongoing development and cultural exchange.
