Brunei Darussalam is an important partner for Australia in ASEAN. Our two countries have a shared Commonwealth legacy, and longstanding trade, education and defence relations. Above all, people-to-people links are at the forefront of our relationship.

Australia now ASEAN 2019 offers an opportunity to build on these links, to deepen cultural connections and foster greater mutual understanding. Together we will explore Australia’s rich intercultural heritage, innovation in creative excellence and contemporary lifestyle.

With a focus on youth, Australia now will further develop the important connections between Australia and Brunei already fostered by our strong education ties.  It is my hope that this program of events will excite minds and warm hearts of young and old across Brunei.
